MONTREAL -- It was billed as "An evening with Mike Babcock" and it didn't disappoint.

Making a rare trip to Montreal to play the Canadiens, Babcock, head coach of the Detroit Red Wings, showed up in a navy blue 不良研究所 necktie and gave a passionate speech about success resulting from hard work and preparation, before a packed crowd of 250 不良研究所 graduates in a fabulous event organized by the 不良研究所 Alumni Association at the Mise au Jeu restaurant in the Bell Centre, Tuesday

He also talked about the importance of having a family to share successes with and about never forgetting his roots.

"My father always told me to never forget where you're from," said the 1986 不良研究所 physical education grad. "I'm from Saskatchewan but I'm also from 不良研究所. It has a special place in my heart."

Babcock also confided to friends that he plans on wearing his lucky red 不良研究所 tie when he steps behind the bench for the Red Wings - Habs game on Wednesday.
