Bielby finishes third at Canadian Olympic swim trials

MONTREAL - Swimmer Steven Bielby, an electrical engineering senior at 不良研究所, finished third in the men's 400-metre individual medley at the Canadian Olympic Trials, Tuesday, in an attempt to earn a roster spot for the 2012 Summer Games in London.
Swimming in the Olympic pool used during the 1976 Summer Games in Montreal, the 5-foot-8, 155-pound native of Pte. Claire, Que., was clocked in four minutes, 23.66 seconds.
The race was won by Alec Page, who opened the evening with a provisional Olympic qualifying mark in 4:17.78, bettering the FINA B cut time of 4:25.44, but falling short of the A cut of 4:16.46. Page improved to 16th in the world with his swim. Andrew Ford finished second in 4:23.22.
