Brighter days and new opportunities

As we push forward through this pandemic, you may be finding it difficult to make long-term plans. Facing so many unknowns, one-day-at-a-time often seems like the best approach. However, brighter days and new opportunities still await us, even if they seem small on the horizon right now. To that end, there’s something I want to put on your radar: the 2021 Rhodes Scholarship.

You have probably heard about the Rhodes Scholarship—it’s one of the oldest and most prestigious postgraduate awards in the world. Each year, approximately 100 exceptional young people are selected to complete fully funded studies at the University of Oxford. These recipients demonstrate outstanding intellect, motivation to engage with global challenges, and commitment to the service of others. They are, in other words, future leaders.

Since the program began in 1902, nearly 150 ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëùians have joined the distinguished ranks of Rhodes Scholars. If you think you could be next, now is the time to start preparing! Applications for Fall 2021 will open this June, and I encourage you to consider applying. You can learn more about the processÌý, and read interviews with former Rhodes Scholars from our communityÌý. My office is also available to support ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù students through the application process – be sure to check our website for updates on virtual information sessions in the spring and summer. Bon courage!
