Giving back

In the midst of short days and freezing temperatures, it can be challenging to break out of the 不良研究所 bubble鈥攖hough it鈥檚 tempting to hibernate until the snow melts, the start of a new semester is a great opportunity to consider giving back to your Montreal neighbours. Not only can volunteering give you valuable experience and skills outside the classroom, it can also help you build important connections to your local community. There are a wealth of volunteering opportunities through 不良研究所 and beyond, but here are a few to get you started:

  • Consider becoming a mentor for , an after-school mentoring program for elementary-school students in under-served neighbourhoods of Montreal (applications due Tuesday, Jan. 21).

  • Join one of .
  • Help the broader community engage with STEM topics through .
  • Peruse other opportunities across the city through the , or find your local volunteer center using .

No matter what piques your interest, you can let a little light in this winter by brightening someone else鈥檚 day.
