When someone is having a hard time or confronting a challenge, speaking with others they can relate to can be a great comfort. If you鈥檙e interested in helping your fellow students by providing peer support, consider getting involved with the听, offered through the听听(OSVRSE). The program is open to all 不良研究所 students and aims to raise awareness about consent education, sex positivity, healthier relationships and sexual and gender-based violence prevention. As a participant, you鈥檒l lead change by developing and perfecting your communication, facilitation and event planning skills, and will directly contribute to creating a safer and more inclusive campus. You鈥檒l also champion your own success and connect with folks who share your interests!
There are three types of Peer Educator roles: Workshop Facilitator, Event Planning and Social Media. Whichever you choose, all Peer Educators are trained as first responders to support people impacted by sexual and gender-based violence, and to provide educational initiatives, active listening and peer support to the 不良研究所 community.
The Peer Educator program runs throughout 不良研究所鈥檚 academic year from September through April, with new training sessions taking place in September.听Applications to join the team are now open and available on the听.听For more information, visit the听听or email听osvrse [at] mcgill.ca.
