Restart a Heart

What do the songs 鈥淪tayin鈥 Alive鈥 by the Bee Gees and 鈥淎nother One Bites the Dust鈥 by Queen have in common? Apparently, the right tempo for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Cardiac arrest is responsible for over 35,000 deaths each year in Canada, and most are witnessed by family members, co-workers, or friends. If you witnessed someone experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest today, would you know what to do? CPR can triple the odds of survival and recovery, which means we should all know when and how to perform this life-saving procedure.

罢丑别听听is a fantastic, student-led initiative working to make CPR education accessible to everyone. The Campaign team has recently collaborated with Teaching and Learning Services to create a new myCourses eModule that makes bystander CPR technique easy to understand and employ. Drawing on the expertise of resuscitation physicians and cardiac arrest survivors, the eModule will help you feel more confident administering CPR if you ever find yourself in a position to do so.

听I strongly encourage all our community members to spend 20 minutes over the long weekend learning how to save a life!
