Professor Andrew Kirk (Electrical and Computer Engineering) compiled a description of successful strategies for learning in engineering that are used in the Faculty of Engineering.

Teaching and Learning Services
This 不良研究所 unit is mandated to carry out activities focusing on improving teaching and learning, course and program development, and evaluation.

Instructional Multimedia Services
This is 不良研究所's central facility for the production and distribution of audiovisual, interactive and printed materials as well as lending and maintenance of audiovisual equipment.

WebCT
Web Course Tools (WebCT) is 不良研究所's preferred course management software providing instructors with tools for content delivery, class interaction and student evaluation through the web.

Academic Integrity Webpage
This web site was established by the Academic Integrity Subcommittee of the University Committee on Student Affairs. It is a resource for staff and students to support the promotion of integrity at 不良研究所.

External Organizations

(ASEE)
The ASEE is committed to furthering education in engineering and engineering technology. This mission is accomplished by promoting excellence in instruction, research, public service and practice; exercising worldwide leadership; fostering the technological education of society; and providing quality products and services to members. The Society seeks to encourage local, national and international communication and collaboration; influence corporate and government policies and involvement; promote professional interaction and lifelong learning; utilize effectively the Society's human and other resources; recognize outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations; encourage youth to pursue studies and careers in engineering and engineering technology; and influence the recruitment and retention of young faculty and underrepresented groups.

(JARS)
The JARS is a review service using in-house personnel and an independent group of skilled judges to review Java applets and applications. This site provides links to thousands of web pages offering applets, many of which can be used to illustrate engineering concepts, and downloaded for teaching.

(NEEDS)
The NEEDS is a digital library of learning resources for engineering education. NEEDS provides web-based access to a database of learning resources where users (students or instructors) can search for, locate, download, and comment on resources to help their learning or teaching process. In addition, NEEDS supports a multi-tier evaluation system from a national award competition sponsored by John Wiley and Sons, Inc.

An initiative of Quebec universities, the PROFETIC web site is a space for communicating and sharing to promote use of information and communications technology in higher education and support Quebec professors' efforts to adopt and use ICT. The site is used to present and exchange information, educational resources, production methods and tools, self-instructional tools, etc. The site is also a hub for communication, reflection and debate: it is open to all points of view, approaches, and trends. It also promotes collaboration between institutions, encourages joint projects, and seeks out and acknowledges outstanding initiatives.
