Biography: 

Erin Strumpf, PhD, is an associate professor at the Department of Economics and the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health at ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù and a founding member of ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’s Public Policy and Population Health Observatory (3PO). She is currently a researcher in residence with the cancer unit at Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS). She is affiliated with ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’s Institute of Health and Social Policy and the Centre on Population Dynamics, as well as the University of Montreal’s Institut de recherche en santé publique (IRSPUM). Dr. Strumpf holds a PhD in Health Policy and Economics from Harvard University, and a BA from Smith College. She is a William Dawson Scholar at ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù and previously held Chercheur-boursiers (Junior 1 and 2) from the Fonds de Recherche du Québec – Santé.

I use causal inference methods and large databases to estimate the effects of clinical and policy interventions in real-world settings. I collaborate with patients, clinicians, and decision makers to generate knowledge to improve population health and health care system performance.
