My research focuses on the cardio-metabolic consequences of sleep apnea in the general population and in pregnancy.
I am a respirologist and sleep specialist with particular interest in the management and long-term consequences of sleep apnea in pregnancy. My research focuses on the assessment of risks to the mother and child related to sleep apnea during pregnancy. I have a current CIHR Project Grant to assess mothers and children for potential sequelae 8-10 years after sleep apnea during pregnancy. My other ongoing projects involve randomized controlled trials for treating sleep apnea in both the general population and during pregnancy, and investigating the impact of treatment on cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes.
