Nominated by Dr. Mark Karanofsky, Director of the Goldman Herzl Family Medicine Centre:
鈥淒r. Decker is truly a hero in the field of Family Medicine. Her dedication to patient care is unmatched, as she takes on an immense workload to ensure the best possible care for her patients. As the lead physician overseeing all medical inpatient services provided by family physicians at the hospital, she not only manages complex medical situations but also coordinates the critical flow through the ER, ensuring that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner. Her commitment extends beyond the hospital walls. Dr. Decker is deeply involved in caring for a floor at the CHSLD, where her compassionate care makes a significant impact on some of the most vulnerable patients. She also takes the time to teach at the U-FMG (university family medicine group), passing on her knowledge and experience to the next generation of healthcare providers.听
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Decker's resilience and determination became even more apparent. While many were overwhelmed by the demands of the crisis, she relentlessly worked to ensure that the most vulnerable populations received the care they desperately needed. Her efforts went beyond traditional duties鈥攕he drove to the hospital to collect pumps for IVs, personally ensuring that essential medical equipment reached the CHSLD and that patients received necessary treatments without delay. Despite the enormity of her contributions, Dr. Decker's work often goes unseen by the broader team, as she quietly works behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. Her commitment to patient care, her dedication to her team, and her tireless efforts in both everyday and crisis situations make her a true hero in Family Medicine.鈥
Congratulations!
