Current research:
My ongoing research focuses on race, sexuality, and social determinants of health in North America. Guided by highly critical theories of social difference, major goals are using qualitative methods to understand (1) the nature of community-building beyond inequity in addition to (2) the convergence of racial, sexual, and gender minority stigma. My work has been supported by the Ford Foundation, National Science Foundation (US), and Social Science Research Council.
Current Projects:
- Analyzing effects of intersectional stigma on health and perceptions of urban environments
- Identifying challenges to well-being for Black gender and sexual minorities in Montreal
