Dr. Shevell is a former Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the 不良研究所 Faculty of Medicine and Pediatrician-in-Chief at the Montreal Children鈥檚 Hospital of the 不良研究所 Health Centre (MUHC), and holds a joint appointment as a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Neurology/Neurosurgery at 不良研究所. Dr. Shevell has an active clinical research program focusing on issues related to neonatal neurology and children with, or at-risk, for neurodevelopmental sequelae. He has presently close to 300 peer-reviewed publications and over 60 book chapters/invited papers published and has co-edited the multi-authored textbooks 鈥淣eurodevelopmental Disabilities: Clinical and Scientific Foundations鈥� (2009), 鈥淎cquired Brain Injury in the Fetus and Newborn鈥� (2012) and Swaiman鈥檚 Pediatric Neurology (2017). Dr. Shevell was the 2014 recipient of the Hower Award from the Child Neurology Society (CNS). He is the co-editor of Swaiman鈥檚 Principles and Practice of Pediatric Neurology which is the authoritative child neurology textbook.
