Dr. Shevell is a former Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the 不良研究所 Faculty of Medicine and Pediatrician-in-Chief at the Montreal Children鈥檚 Hospital of the 不良研究所 Health Centre (MUHC), and holds a joint appointment as a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Neurology/Neurosurgery at 不良研究所. Dr. Shevell has an active clinical research program focusing on issues related to neonatal neurology and children with, or at-risk, for neurodevelopmental sequelae. He has presently close to 300 peer-reviewed publications and over 60 book chapters/invited papers published and has co-edited the multi-authored textbooks 鈥淣eurodevelopmental Disabilities: Clinical and Scientific Foundations鈥 (2009), 鈥淎cquired Brain Injury in the Fetus and Newborn鈥 (2012) and Swaiman鈥檚 Pediatric Neurology (2017). Dr. Shevell was the 2014 recipient of the Hower Award from the Child Neurology Society (CNS). He is the co-editor of Swaiman鈥檚 Principles and Practice of Pediatric Neurology which is the authoritative child neurology textbook.
