Dr. Wissam Shalish graduated from medical school at 不良研究所 in 2008, followed by pediatric residency at the Montreal Children's Hospital from 2008 to 2011, and neonatal fellowship at the University of Toronto from 2011 to 2013. In the summer of 2013, Dr. Shalish began his career as a Neonatologist within the Department of Pediatrics at the Montreal Children's Hospital. 鈥It was an absolute honor to be part of the MCH family, a place where I knew I was a valued member, where I could strive for excellence, and where academic opportunities abounded.鈥 As such, motivated by a passion for research, he concurrently pursued a PhD in Experimental Medicine at 不良研究所 (09/2013-10/2020) in which he expanded knowledge on the subject of extubation in extremely preterm infants and acquired training in biomedical signal analysis. This opportunity provided Dr. Shalish with the backbone to pursue his line of research as an independent investigator since June 2021, where he aims to develop, evaluate, and validate diagnostic innovations that can enhance apnea detection, classification, and monitoring in preterm infants.
