We are thrilled to welcome two new international research collaborators to the Plurilingual Lab: Dr. Mi Yung Park from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and Dr. Ruth Fielding from Monash University, Australia. These esteemed scholars are joining forces with Dr. Angelica Galante on an important new research project that explores linguistic discrimination and linguistic justice in English-speaking higher education settings across three countries: Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
The project is focused on investigating discriminatory experiences related to language and culture among plurilingual students, particularly those whose first language is not English. The research will uncover linguistic discrimination experiences faced by plurilingual students听 in higher education and investigate bottom-up strategies and actions participants use to navigate these challenges.
We are eager to see the innovative insights this collaboration will bring. Welcome to the Plurilingual Lab, Dr. Park and Dr. Fielding!
