Areas of expertise:
I am very interested in understanding the dynamics of cell networks, in particular information flow between cell and tissue levels of organization. My research goal is to develop new imaging methods for multi-scale, multi-resolution measurements, and use these tools to study complex cardiac and neuronal excitable systems. To this end, I work with industrial partners to design a novel high-speed camera for life science research, and with colleagues in the emerging field of cardiac optogenetics. The dynamics of cell networks is analyzed by developing cellular automaton and continuous models of excitable media.
