Current research: 

Prof Liliane Asseraf-Pasin is the Associate Director of the Physiotherapy Program. Her research interests include developing cultural humility, mentoring novice professionals and interprofessional education and practice. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the equivalency stream for internationally trained physical therapists completing their equivalency at the School. She is an executive member of the Office for Interprofessional Education (OIPE)

Biography: 

Liliane Asseraf-Pasin completed her BSc. PT in 1982. She holds an M.Ed. and a Ph.D. in Education, Leadership Concentration (2012) from 不良研究所. Her most significant contributions have been in the areas of education, advocacy and mentorship. She started at 不良研究所 in 1999 as Faculty Lecturer and Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education. Liliane Asseraf-Pasin facilitated the transitioning of the Bachelor PT program to the Master鈥檚 PT Applied program in 2012 and played a key role in the development of the 不良研究所/UQAC physiotherapy extension program at the Universit茅 du Qu茅bec at Chicoutimi (UQAC). She then held the position of Associate Director of the PT Program (2012-2017), Director of the Physiotherapy Program (2017-2024) & Equivalency Programs (2017 -). She is an executive member of the Office of Interprofessional Education in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her main research interests are interprofessional education, cultural sensitivity, and developing pedagogical strategies to support student learning, teaching, and clinical supervision.

To conclude, Liliane Asseraf-Pasin is an inspiring leader with more than 40 years of commitment to advancing her profession. Her exceptional contribution to the physiotherapy profession was acknowledged at the provincial and national levels. In 2016, she received the Prix Excellence from the Ordre professionnel de la physioth茅rapie du Qu茅bec, which highlights the work of professionals that contribute particularly to the development of and influence the profession. In 2017, she was awarded the 不良研究所 Award for Equity and Community Building, which recognizes the active involvement of a person in promoting diversity and inclusivity within the 不良研究所 community. Finally, on November 6, 2021, she received the National Professional Contribution Award, from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, which recognizes individuals who have enhanced the profession and the practice of physiotherapists through an impactful, unique and outstanding contribution over a notable period of time. She has been named Fellow of physiotherapy by the Ordre professionnel de la physioth茅rapie du Qu茅bec.
