Overview

Electrical Engineering : Operating principles of controllers of flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS). Transformer, thyristor and gate- turn- off thyristor (GTO) technologies. Modulation methods: harmonic elimination, pulse width modulation. Applications in: shunt and series advanced static VAR Controllers (ASVC), phase shifters, unified power flow controllers (UPFC).

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2020-2021 academic year.
