Overview

Mining & Materials Engineering : Stress-strain behaviour. Elasticity and plasticity of metals, ceramics and polymers. Dislocations theory. Single crystal and polycrystalline slip. Mechanical twinning. Strengthening mechanisms. Process-property and microstructure-property relationships. Notch toughness and fracture mechanics. Failure, fracture and damage accumulation. Fatigue.
