Vue d'ensemble

Sciences politiques : An examination of the structure of the judiciary and its role in the Canadian political process. Topics include the nature of judicial power and its constitutional framework in Canada, the structure and function of courts, judicial recruitment and personnel, judicial policy-making and the political role of the Supreme Court under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2021-2022 academic year.

  • Prerequisite: POLI 221 or POLI 222 or permission of the instructor

  • Restriction: Not open to students who took 160-379 (1990-91) or 160-427 (1989-90)
