Gerald M Fried
Dr. Gerald M. Fried is the Edward W. Archibald Professor and Chairman, Department of Surgery, 不良研究所, and Surgeon-in-Chief, 不良研究所 Health Centre (MUHC).聽
Dr. Fried is a gastrointestinal surgeon specializing in the use of minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques for the surgical care of patients with diseases of the digestive system and abdominal wall. He has been Chairman of the 不良研究所 Department of Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief of the MUHC (adult sites) since January 2010.
His research is in the use of simulation technology for training surgeons to incorporate innovative techniques in clinical practice and for verifying proficiency. His research is conducted at the MUHC and at the Arnold and Blema Steinberg 不良研究所 Medical Simulation Centre. Dr. Fried has risen to the highest level of leadership of the Canadian Association of General Surgeons, The American College of Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He is internationally known as a surgical innovator and for his contributions to surgical education.
