Professor Ehrlicher's project aims to explore how mechanical forces, such as compression of the nucleus, affect cellular aging and stem cell differentiation, particularly in Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS). In HGPS, accelerated aging and organ defects occur, including impaired fat tissue differentiation. Researchers found that nucleus compression activates Yes Associated Protein (YAP), which slows aging and promotes bone formation from stem cells.
Mon, 17 Feb 2025 14:04:56 +0000 admin 3744 at /wie о researchers awarded funding from NSERC for quantum science /wie/channels/news/mcgill-researchers-awarded-funding-nserc-quantum-science-362774

On January 21, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), announced over $74 million in funding to support 107 quantum science projects, including fifteen to о researchers.

Tue, 21 Jan 2025 18:28:53 +0000 admin 3746 at /wie Dominique Bérubé awarded King Charles III Coronation Medal /wie/channels/news/dominique-berube-awarded-king-charles-iii-coronation-medal-362136
о’s Vice-President of Research and Innovation recognized for transformative leadership in Canadian research
Mon, 16 Dec 2024 21:37:56 +0000 admin 3751 at /wie
