Dr. Mohamed Badawy
Appointed as the new Chief Anesthesiologist
at the 不良研究所 Health Centre

The Department of Anesthesia is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mohamed Badawy, MD, FRCPC as the new Chief Anesthesiologist at the 不良研究所 Health Centre (MUHC)

Dr. Badawy brings a wealth of experience to this role. He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine and program co-director of the neuro-critical care fellowship. After completing his medical degree at the Universit茅 de Montr茅al, Dr. Badawy pursued a combined anesthesia and critical care medicine residency at 不良研究所. Since 2013, he has served as a staff anesthesiologist and intensivist at the Montreal Neurological Hospital (MNH).

Dr. Badawy's leadership experience includes seven years as program co-director of the neurocritical care fellowship program, five years as site director of anesthesia at MNH, co-leading the COVID-19 response team at MNH, and serving as a member of the neuro-executive and Anesthesia executive committees since 2019.

Dr. Badawy recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management at 不良研究所 in 2022, further enhancing his administrative capabilities.

In his new role, Dr. Badawy plans to focus on stabilizing the manpower in anesthesia at the MUHC, enhancing inter-site collaboration, promoting medical-administrative co-management of perioperative services, and consolidating enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) principles across the MUHC.
