About the Canada Research Chairs Program
In 2000, the Government of Canada created a new program to establish 2000 research professorships - Canada Research Chairs - in universities across the country by 2008. The Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program聽stands at the centre of a national strategy to make Canada one of the world's top five countries for research and development by investing $300 million a year to attract and retain some of the world's most accomplished and promising minds. It is administered by the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS).
The CRC program at 不良研究所 is under the purview of the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice-President (Academic) (OPEVPA). The submission process is jointly coordinated through the OPEVPA and the Strategic Initiatives unit. Once awarded, the Office of Sponsored Research manages the CRC award and the Strategic Initiatives unit manages the CFI and JELF awards, if applicable.
