Dr. Shaheen Shariff Comments on Women Front Line Workers (CTV News)

Dr. Shaheen Shariff, DISE, was recently interviewed on CTV News on the women who work in the front-line jobs in the fight against COVID-19 and how they have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic.
鈥淵oung women in the medical field who might have young families, they're exposed to the virus to a much great extent in the hospitals,鈥 said Dr. Shaheen Shariff. 鈥淢any of the front-line workers are from marginalized socio-economic groups, where they're living in very crowded areas. They can't get away from people, they can't isolate. Many of them have to take public transport.鈥
Sharif is on a 不良研究所 research team that is sharing their research the university's IMPACTS website. What they have found is that the stress on women 鈥渋s palpable.鈥
