Abstract: Carbon sequestration practices have the dual benefit of replenishing soil organic matter levels while simultaneously mitigating greenhouse gas emissions by capturing and storing carbon in agricultural soils. Despite their potential, these practices are far from being widespread. The first part of the talk will examine how uncertainty and risk play a part in farmer鈥檚 decisions to adopt intercropping, a practice shown to enrich soils and absorb carbon.

In order to provide patient care and health care delivery with broader strategies for mitigating and adapting to rising temperatures, a comprehensive understanding of the wide range of health impacts of extreme heat exposure is crucial.

The event features four Macdonald Campus graduate students giving an engaging 10-minute talk about their research and how the discoveries, sometimes unintentional, and techniques of previous scientists made their work possible. The event will conclude with an open Q&A period.

To help new undergraduates settle into campus life, Macdonald Campus hosts a number of orientation activities in late August. Frosh activities and registration will be posted on the聽聽in August.
Final schedules will be available during Orientation Week. Many events require registration, which will open at the beginning of August. Activity times and locations may change, so be sure to check back.
