Some of you may have noticed trees being felled near the John Abbott College Memorial Field. 听While we never want to cut trees down, nature sometimes leaves us no choice. 听Four of the trees being taken down this week are rotten oak trees, which pose a safety hazard, and another four are ash trees infected with the emerald ash borer that has been wreaking havoc on Montreal Island in recent years. 听All the trees being removed are being replaced. 听Other trees will get a significant pruning. 听It is likely that more oak trees will need to be felled in future years for the same reasons.
