Information for Patients
The Jim Lund Clinic at Welcome Hall Mission is a free dental service available to low-income and unhoused Montrealers who do not have any dental insurance, private or government subsidised. Created through a partnership between the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences and Welcome Hall Mission, it is Montreal’s first permanent, free dental care clinic.
Due to financial constraints and lack of insurance, many people never see a dentist because it isn’t affordable on a tight budget. This sparked the idea of creating a free dental clinic, and the Jim Lund Dental Clinic was inaugurated on February 11, 2011 thanks to generous support from socially responsibleÌýfoundations, organizationsÌýand individual donors to Welcome Hall Mission and theÌýFaculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences.
The clinic is staffed by:
- dentists
- dental assistant
- 3rd and 4th year dental medicine students from the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences
Treatments offered
- Complete dental examination with radiographs (intraoral and panoramic)
- Preventive dental hygiene treatments: scaling, prophylaxis, fluoride varnish, sealants
