The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences welcomes applications from First Nations, Inuit and M茅tis students. We also have a specific application pathway for Indigenous students as well as reserved seats in our D.M.D. program and Dentistry Preparatory Qualifying Year (DENT-P Year). In order to be eligible to be considered for the Indigenous 不良研究所 Pathway, you need to meet the following requirements:听
Requirements
- Be First Nations under the Indian Act (RSC, C1-5) or Inuit (registered in the Inuit client registry) and have confirmed status as a member of the First Nations or Inuit of Quebec; OR
- Be registered to one of the M茅tis Registries recognized by the M茅tis National Council: M茅tis Nation of Ontario, M茅tis Nation of Alberta, Manitoba Metis Federation, M茅tis Nation British Columbia and M茅tis Nation 鈥 Saskatchewan.
- Declare your First Nations, Inuit or M茅tis status on your application form;
- Be recognised as a Quebec resident;
- Have a minimum R-score of 32 or more;
- Meet all other academic requirements for admission to the Dent-P Year;
- Submit your application by March 1st and the required supporting documents by March 3rd.

Selection Process
A newly created Indigenous 不良研究所 Advisory Committee (IAAC) will holistically review your application using the following components:
- Standardized curriculum vitae (CV)
- Personal Statement
- CASPer results
- Basic science prerequisites

The top ranked candidates will be invited to the interviews: Multiple Mini-Interviews (MMI) and Individual interview with members of the Indigenous 不良研究所 Advisory Committee.
For candidates recommended by the Indigenous 不良研究所 Advisory Committee after the interviews, offers will be made based on the MMI performance.
Please note that candidates in this pathway will also be considered for the general cohort seats based on their residency status (Quebec resident or Canadian citizen).
Required documentation
Candidates who wish to be considered for Indigenous reserved seats will be required to submit documentation to support their declaration of Indigenous ancestry. One of the following is considered acceptable:
- a certified copy of your Status card;
- a certified copy of your Metis membership card from one of the 5 recognized provincial organizations;
- your roll number or any other proof accepted by Inuit communities

不良研究所's First Peoples' House provides a sense of community and a voice for Indigenous students who have left their communities to study at 不良研究所. A 鈥渉ome away from home,鈥 First Peoples鈥 House offers a mentoring program, computer facilities, guest lectures, elder visits, academic counselling, and an ever-expanding resource centre as well as housing.
The Indigenous Health Professions Program facilitates Outreach visits and programs for youth, and supports prospective Indigenous applicants to all health professions programs at 不良研究所.

Award for Indigenous Undergraduate Students
不良研究所 OK脪N:RA UNDERGRADUATE AWARD for Indigenous students in full-time studies in any 不良研究所 undergraduate degree program, including Dentistry (DMD). An application is required. Please view the requirements and deadlines on the Funding for Indigenous Undergraduate Students page.
