Admission Requirements

  1. Applicants must have successfully completed a DMD/DDS or BSc degree in a Health Sciences discipline (ex. Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Physiology) or a related field (ex. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Engineering) with a CGPA of at least 3.2. Applicants with a CGPA of lower than 3.2 may still be considered for admission if their application is accompanied by an explanation of why their CGPA is lower than 3.2.
  2. Applicants can secure a supervisor before or after they submit their application.
    - Potential supervisors have access to applications that have been submitted through ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù's ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù platform, have been reviewed by the Faculty's Graduate Studies Office, and are only pending the confirmation of the supervision form.
    - Candidate selection for this program is highly competitive; it is in your best interest to submit your application as soon as the application cycle opens.
    - Faculty researchers may contact applicants with similar research interests. Please indicate the name or names of the researchers you would like to work with in your online application, as this will allow your application to be prioritized by these professors first. We encourage you to carefully consider the researchers’ profiles and to contact them directly to discuss the possibility of supervision.
    - It is important to pay attention to application deadlines, as applicants must secure a supervisor before they can be accepted into the program.
  3. Applicants must follow standard Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) application procedures. For detailed information regarding the reference letters and transcripts to be included to your application, see the supporting documents section of the website. It is important to include referees with valid institutional/organizational email addresses. You must also include your CV with your application.
  4. Applicants whose previous studies were not completed in English must submit proof of English language proficiency. See ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’s language proficiency requirements for more information. GPS reserves the right to request proof of English proficiency from any applicant (regardless of citizenship, country of origin, or first language) at any time during the application review process. Following submission of your proof of English language proficiency, it will take 5-7 business days for your application checklist to be updated. Please include this in your application timeline calculation.
  5. Please answer the following questions in your personal statement:
    - Why have you chosen to apply to the MSc (Thesis) program in the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences?
    - What are your research interests?
    - What research experience do you have?
    - Are you interested in continuing on to a PhD program?
    - What are your career goals and how will this program help you achieve them?
