Often when we think of 鈥渁ssessment鈥, we immediately think of 鈥済rading鈥. While the two are connected, there is more to assessment than simply issuing a grade at the end of the term. The goal of this workshop is to think about how assessment can be used a tool to enhance students learning overall.
The workshop will cover basic course design principles, and delve into the two main categories of assessment, formative and summative. We will share a number of assessment strategies, including some ways MyCourses can be used for providing students with feedback. We will also demonstrate how to manage grades using MyCourses, to make sure they comply with the new grading policy. Please come prepared to work on a specific course.
