Monologues d'enseignants

脡tudier les exp茅riences d鈥檈nseignants en formation initiale du Qu茅bec envers des probl茅matiques v茅cues par les autochtones

The Teacher Monologues is a research project funded by The Qu茅bec Research Fund - Society and Culture (FRQSC). This research focuses on working with pre-service teachers in Montreal, Quebec to use drama and theatre methods and approaches to create, explore and inquire into issues and concerns related to Aboriginal education in Quebec.

The first phase of this project allows participants to meet with local elders and to learn about Aboriginal perspectives as a way of deepening understandings about what it might mean to teach Aboriginal students and culturally relevant curriculum. The second part of this project provides the opportunity for participants to deeply reflect upon and to then interrogate their own personal views and understandings on this topic. Monologue creation workshops on a theme of personal importance to the participants (that emerges during phase one or two) are then created and eventually performed for an audience as a means to connect and foster dialogue with a larger network of educators, students and citizens.
