- A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 overall in undergraduate studies, or at least 3.2/4.0 over the last two years of full-time study
- An undergraduate degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or its equivalent is a prerequisite.
- Students who seek admission to the Master's program without a degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology may be required to complete up to 30 credits of undergraduate work to qualify for admissions (to be determined by the candidate’s supervisor and/or Graduate Program Director).
- Applicants are advised to contact a potential supervisor in advance of the application deadline.
- For further information about academic staff members’ areas of research and contact information, please see PEOPLE. At least one Faculty member must be willing to supervise the student before the committee recommends acceptance.
- English Language Proficiency: depending on your circumstances, submission of proof of English proficiency may be required. See the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies website for further specifications.

Transcripts
A copy of your unofficial transcripts from ALL previous university level studies (undergraduate and graduate) must be uploaded through your applicant page. Official transcripts are required after students are officially admitted to the program.
Two Letters of Recommendation
You must identify on the application form two instructors who are familiar with your work, and who are willing to write the letters of recommendation. Advise your instructors that your letters of recommendations are also considered when evaluating your dossier for internal funding opportunities. It is recommended that the letters highlight your accomplishments and potential as a graduate student.
Letters must meet the following criteria:
- The program the student has applied to must be clearly indicated and the letter should include information that would aid an admissions committee in making an informed decision.
- Letters must be dated and not be more than 12 months old.
- The referee must indicate his/her position and full contact information at the institution.
CV
An overview of the applicant's experience and other qualifications, including employment, academic credentials, publications, contributions, and significant achievements.
Personal Statement
A 1-2 page description indicating reasons for wanting to join the program and a brief overview of research the applicant would like to conduct based on the interested research topic. Applicants who are in contact with specific supervisors may ask supervisors for further detail and may tailor their personal statement to a specific supervisor.
