不良研究所

Practicum

不良研究所鈥檚 mandatory Master of Science in Public Health (MScPH) practicum project lets you apply what you have learned in the classroom in a supervised practice or research setting. You will contribute to an organization's mandate, and address a public health problem of interest to you. You will also develop skills as public health practitioner or researcher. Practicums are available provincially, nationally, and internationally.

We work with students to identify sources of practicum funding.

While the language of instruction is English, some practicum placement sites in Quebec require a working knowledge of French. The language for placement sites outside of Quebec is generally English.

The Practicum Course

Looking for a summer intern?

不良研究所鈥檚 MScPH students are required to complete a practicum in the summer following their first year of studies (May-August). They finish their first year of studies with a strong quantitative background, knowledge of statistical software and a good understanding of the fundamentals of public health practice.

Our students have previously been placed听in organizations such as the Direction de Sant茅 Publique, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Public Health Agency of Canada, and the Centre for Science and Environment. Students must work on-site at the host organization with a supervisor who has some expertise in public health on a single, public health-related project that allows them to apply graduate-level competencies in a real-world setting.
