What is 1st Up?

1st Up听is a听peer support group for 不良研究所 students who self-identify as first generation. Facilitated by听First-Gen听students, the group offers emotional and academic support in an informal, peer-to-peer structure. Meet-ups cover a variety of topics including navigating the university experience, social justice issues, and self-care strategies.

We would like to acknowledge that 不良研究所 is located on unceded land, which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabeg nations. 不良研究所 honours, recognizes and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which we meet today.
