CALL FOR POSTERS
. . Deadline for abstract submission isÌýFebruary 3, 2020.
As a leader in health professional education, we invite you to submit a poster abstract about sex and gender health education initiatives within your institution to the 2020 Sex and Gender Health Education (SGHE) Summit.
Posters should showcase programs and research on curriculum development, integration and assessment in SGHE. Attendees are invited from a variety of professions, including:ÌýMedicine,ÌýNursing,ÌýPharmacology,ÌýDentistry andÌýAllied Health Professions.
Sex and Gender Specific Health (SGSH) refers broadly to sex and gender differences in health and may be applied across all health professions. SGSH may also refer to sex and gender differences affecting population health or public health policy. These terms are based on the understanding that biology (sex) and social roles and identities (gender) are important in and have implications for prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment; and in the design and implementation of health research policy and programs. We also welcome posters concerning LGBTQI health as an important area of focus within the broader field of SGSH.
This Summit is particularly interested in posters that highlight the integration of SGSH into health education:ÌýCurricular Innovation,ÌýCurricular Assessment,ÌýFaculty Development,ÌýEducational Policy and Advocacy andÌýSGSH Attitudes and Awareness.Ìý
Abstracts should contain the following:ÌýBackground,ÌýObjectives,ÌýMethods/Research andÌýConclusions/Impact.
Use a short, specific title. Capitalize initial letters of trade names and use standard abbreviations for units of measure. Non-standard abbreviations should be spelled out in full at first mention, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
First authors will be notified of acceptance and the date, time, location, and poster board number in April 2020. If your poster is accepted, you must register for the Summit and be available to attend the poster presentation reception on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 4-6 pm. EDT at Jefferson University in Philadelphia (Room TBD).
SGHE Summit Abstract submissions will provide valuable information during Summit Workshops and Breakout Sessions, and they will provide networking opportunities for participants.
