Matthew Salaciak, a PhD student in Experimental Medicine took a transformative moment in his life and used it to chart his future in medicine. Using his non-traditional academic background, he is approaching cancer research by applying the principles of computer science to single-cell RNA sequencing.

Malith Kur, a PhD student in Religious Studies left war-torn South Sudan as a teenager and now endeavours to build peace through community efforts and his academic research, focusing on the relationship between religion and public policy, so that key stakeholders can come together to build peace and a viable future.
