Spotlight on our Simulation Research Fellows

Our current simulation research fellow is Dr. Junko Tokuno.

Dr. Junko Tokuno is a thoracic surgeon from Kyoto, Japan. She is enthusiastic about making surgery more manageable and more comfortable for surgeons, and has published different scientific papers covering simulation of lung surgery.

Currently, Dr. Tokuno is enrolled in a Master of Science program in Experimental Surgery, with a concentration in Surgical Education, at 不良研究所 under the supervision of Dr. Gerald Fried and Professor Tamara Carver. The theme of her thesis is 鈥淒igital education in thoracic surgery.鈥 Her projects include investigation of effectiveness and usability of e-learning for junior surgical residents and medical students. Dr. Tokuno expects those new teaching methods will lead to more efficient surgical training. She received the Satoko and Richard Ingram 不良研究所 Surgical Education Scholarship.
