At home and abroad, the current state and future of democracy are recurring sources of public debate, as well as of collective anxiety, in a context marked by the rise of populism and the reassessment of a number of electoral and political institutions. Co-organized by the , the and the ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Institute for the Study of Canada (MISC), this bilingual symposium brings together academics and practitioners to discuss current trends in public opinion and issues related to democratic practices and reforms in both Canada and Quebec

Two keynote speakers will open the morning and afternoon panel discussions, respectively: Professor Allison Harell (UQAM) and Professor Ruth Dassonneville (UdM).

This symposium is open to the general public. It takes place on Monday, March 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Montréal in the Salle polyvalente (SH-4800), Pavillon Sherbrooke, Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), located at 200 Sherbrooke Street West, Montréal, QC H2X 1X5.
