Individual Development Plan
Think of your IDP as a tailored roadmap that guides you from where you are now to where you want to be.
An IDP helps听you to:
- Assess your skills and identify areas for professional development.
- Articulate your personal needs for wellbeing and success.
- Identify your annual priorities and select aligned academic, personal, and professional goals.
- Establish an action plan for how you will achieve your goals and/or adapt when necessary.
- Track your progress towards your goals.
Your needs and interests will change over time, so it is important to revisit your IDP every 6 to 12 months. Creating your IDP is part of an iterative cycle: Essentially, the IDP is a tool used to encourage the repetitive process of reflection, defining goals, setting specific objectives, and taking action.
