  • Magali Millecamps on being hired as a faculty member by the Facult茅 de m茅decine v茅t茅rinaire of the UdeM. Her new position starts Dec 1st, 2024. We are sad to see her leave 不良研究所 after these many years but we wish her every success in her new tenure-track position
  • Hannah Derue for being selected as one of nine province-wide finalists for the Defi Media competition in the public communications in November.Hannah will be representing 不良研究所. Her talk is entitled 鈥淧ain and Pleasure: studying the intersection of chronic pain and opioids鈥.

September 2024

  • 鈥 who started his career as a research assistant with Ron Melzack 鈥 on being the co-recipient of this Ralph W. Gerard Prize in Neuroscience from the Society for Neurscience.
  • Lindsay Neuert on her selection as graphic designer/photographer for the PCSA.

August 2024

  • Pablo Ingelmo and the entire team at the Edwards Family Interdisciplinary Centre for Complex Pain on receiving the from the Montreal

    Children鈥檚 Hospital.

  • Christophe Tanguay-Sabourin on receiving the 鈥 鈥 from the FRQ. This award is given to a student whose publication is judged to be important each month. The paper that Christophe was recognized for is the paper from the Vachon-Presseau lab on 鈥淎 prognostic risk score for development and spread of chronic pain.鈥
  • Christophe Tanguay-Sabourin and the Vachon-Presseau lab for winning the Horizon Award (2024). This was made in recognition of their Nature Medicine 鈥淎 prognostic risk score for development and spread of chronic pain鈥.

听 听 听 听 听 听 听 The award is self-described as 鈥渃elebrating and advancing breakthroughs in pain research by recognizing the most groundbreaking scientific work in the field with a $10k award, we both honor it and contribute to its continuation鈥

  • Alfredo on his NSERC Discovery Grant on 鈥淎 New Role of Reactive Astrogliosis on Spinal Cord Dorsal Horn Neuronal Mitochondrial Function and Sensitization鈥 (5 yrs/$39K).
  • Etienne on his CIHR project grant entitled 鈥淒eveloping inclusive, ethical, and responsible markers for chronic pain conditions鈥 (4yrs, $623K). Co-investigators on this grant include Luda, Jeff and Mathieu. Well done all!
