SUPERVISEES

Doctoral Student: Sayed Azher

Sayed Azher is a Doctoral student in Experimental Surgery. He holds a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Biochemistry from McMaster University, Canada. His interests are centralized around artificial intelligence and virtual simulation technology. In particular, how these technologies can be integrated into medical education and their potential to enhance the educational success of health care providers. He hopes to utilize psychological and educational theories in adjunct with virtual simulation to train and support health care workers, ultimately resulting in enhanced patient care.鈥

Doctoral Student: Keerat Grewal

Keerat Grewal is a PhD student in the Experimental Surgery program in the Department of Surgery at 不良研究所. She completed her BSc in biochemistry at McMaster University where she initially developed her interest in education after being an undergraduate TA. Her other interests include psychology and clinical practice. She hopes to advance educational analyses by analyzing individual and group emotion regulation strategies in medical settings.

Doctoral Student: Osamu Nomura, PhD

Dr. Osamu Nomura is a PhD student in Health Sciences Education in the Institute of Health Sciences Education at 不良研究所 university. He earned an MD from Hirosaki University in Japan and worked as a pediatric emergency physician in Tokyo and Hirosaki. He completed a Master鈥檚 of Arts in Educational Psychology, Health Professions Education Concentration in 不良研究所 in 2019. After completing the master鈥檚 program, he was appointed as the assistant professor of the Emergency Medicine, and currently as the research associate professor in the Centre for Medical Education at Hirosaki University. In his PhD project at 不良研究所, he will examine medical students鈥 and health professionals鈥 use of emotion regulation strategies.

Master's Student: Nadja Benmohamed, M.D.

Nadja Benmohamed is a master鈥檚 thesis student in surgical education at 不良研究所. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency in University of Geneva, Switzerland. In Switzerland, she was a tutor at the Swiss Foundation for Innovation and Training in Surgery for training of laparoscopy in gynecology. Her research interests are in surgical education, surgical robotics, and simulation.

Master鈥檚 Student:听Lizianne Zini

Dr. Zini is a master鈥檚 student in Experimental Surgery (Surgical Education). She holds a bachelor's degree in medicine from the Federal University of Ceara, Brazil. Lizianne also completed a specialization in trauma surgery and critical care medicine from the State University of Campinas, Brazil. Her research interests include novel techniques and approaches to medical education with a focus on emotional regulation.

Master鈥檚 Student: Tippie Zhang

Tippie Zhang is a master鈥檚 thesis student in surgical education at 不良研究所. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at 不良研究所, alongside minors in behavioural science and gender studies. Her research interest revolves around studying emotions.

Master鈥檚 Student: Asa Kanani

I am a master鈥檚 student at the SAILS lab, focusing on behavioral training and reward processing within educational systems for medical professionals. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto, where I completed the co-op program. My academic interests are deeply rooted in the intersection of psychology and education, aiming to enhance learning experiences in the medical field.
