Pollack Hall, situated within the Schulich School of Music of 不良研究所, is scheduled to close temporarily on May 1, 2024, to undergo extensive refurbishment of its facilities. The forthcoming major renovations aim to enhance the experience for both performers and audiences. As a prominent fixture in Montreal's cultural landscape, this hall pays tribute to the Canadian philanthropist of Ukrainian descent, Maurice Pollack. Inaugurated in 1975, the hall has not undergone significant renovations since 2000.
The Schulich School of Music is proud to announce soprano Sara Schabas as the winner of the 2023鈥2024 Wirth Vocal Prize!听
Almost a decade after its establishment by Montreal philanthropist Elizabeth Wirth, the prize is awarded annually to a Schulich School of Music voice student who demonstrates exceptional talent, and significant promise for an international career. The grand prize includes a 14-karat gold pin, a concert during the Schulich school year, a private consultation with Boulev鈥橝rt Artists鈥 Management and a $25,000 cash award.听

The Schulich School of Music is delighted to welcome Lindsay Roberts and Anna Petersen to our Department of Performance as oboe course instructors! These talented musicians have performed in orchestras across Quebec, Canada, and the world. We are honoured that they will share their incredible talents and expertise with our students!
CBC Music recently released its list of top 30 classical musicians under 30 years old. Six Schulich School of Music students and alumni were featured!

Summer is in full swing! In addition to basking in the sun, several Schulich community members received prestigious appointments and competition prizes.
The Schulich School of Music is well-represented at this year鈥檚 Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. Many of our students and faculty will take the stage in the heart of Montreal, contributing to an already stellar lineup of artists and musicians 鈥 and we couldn鈥檛 be more proud!

Many of our students recently climbed the stage for their convocation. And after they received their degrees, smiled for the cameras, and headed back to their seats, they took their first steps into an exciting new chapter of their lives.
If this past year was any indication, they will surely continue to make Schulich proud. The 2022 鈥 2023 season felt like a return to form since 2020, and our students, faculty, staff, and alumni truly brought music to life.

Mia-Lin Gromko, a Schulich School of Music student who is graduating from her undergraduate degree this year, is the winner of the prestigious Governor 骋别苍别谤补濒鈥檚 Academic Silver Medal. She is the first-ever Schulich student to earn this recognition at 不良研究所.听
