The federal government is expected to announce plans to move forward with a high-speed rail project linking Quebec City and Toronto, with electric trains reportedly capable of reaching speeds of 300 km/h. Although no official announcement has been made, sources suggest the new line would significantly reduce travel time between Montreal and Toronto 鈥 from the current 5.5-hour drive, or more than five hours by train, to just three hours by train 鈥 and include stops in cities such as Ottawa, Laval and Trois-Rivi猫res, all while operating on a dedicated track.听听
