The Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies

The Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies oversees graduate programs and postdoctoral experiences at ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù, while the Associate Deans of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies are responsible for handling graduate student and postdoctoral affairs. The Associate Deans are also responsible for helping graduate students, postdocs, and their supervisors resolve problematic situations.

Student Mentorship Programs

The objective is to provide both mentors and mentees with the opportunity and tools to make meaningful connections and thrive in their professional lives.

Student Accessibility and Achievement's Peer Mentor Program

The goal is to facilitate access to learning and support the inclusion of students throughout all stages of their university career. The program aims to ease the transition to university life while also supporting students as they build and develop their own networks and skillsets. The program empowers students gain new skills and achieve their academic goals.ÌýWe aim to pair mentors and mentees who are from a similar academic background and who share similar extracurricular interests, while alsoÌýtaking into accountÌýindividual preferences.Ìý

First Peoples' House Cousins Peer Mentorship

Offered through ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’s First People’s House, the Indigenous Student Mentorship Program is designed to connect First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students who are unfamiliar with First Peoples' House and its services with Indigenous students at ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù who are more involved and acquainted with the House's resources and events. Established students provide guidance and support to current students in connecting with on and off-campus communities and assist newer students in navigating their first year at the university and in the city.

This program is designed to connect Black students (undergraduate and graduate) with Black alumni, faculty, and staff in valuable partnerships. The mentorship seeks to provide Black mentees with an opportunity to explore their academic, personal, and professional goals with the guidance and support of Black mentors, who are empowered to share their experiences, knowledge, and advice. The program is intended to be an engaging and rewarding opportunity for both mentors and mentees.


Industry/Employer Resources

The Career Management team at Desautels established an EDI Industry Advisory Board that will allow for open dialogue between industry leaders and ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’s business school, to better understand, support and shape all student experiences as they transition from academic studies to the early stages of their career.

They created the EDI Campus Recruitment Guide, which contains best practices for an employer to consider, and how an organization can make the most EDI impact when it comes to its recruitment goals.
