About
You have submitted your journal article and received an encouraging response from the editor. But how should you respond to the various and sometimes contradictory comments of the peer reviewers? Peer review is an essential part of the publishing process, but it can be difficult to navigate effectively. In this workshop, we will run through the different responses you might receive from a journal, from "accept with minor revisions" to "reject, revise, and resubmit". We will discuss how to tackle reviewers' comments, from minor quibbles to requests for new results. And we will discuss how to craft convincing responses to reviewers and editors. The goal of the workshop is to help you move from receiving a peer review to seeing your article in print.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will learn the following:
- How to understand the level of revision required
- How to approach revisions and reconcile different requests from reviewers
- How to effectively respond to editor and reviewers
Instructions
You will have the chance to ask questions and to discuss comments you have received. Please note down either one or two difficult comments or requests you received from a reviewer or editor. Or, if you don't yet have a paper in review, come with one or two questions about the process that you would like to ask.
